OTC Price Updates for QuickPOS

QuickPOS has the ability to import prices from wholesalers into your database (much the same way we import drug prices in QuickSCRIP). The process is fundamentally similar and can be broken into a few easy steps.

  1. Get the File from your Wholesaler
  2. Save and/or extract it onto the QuickPOS main register
  3. Run the Update in the QuickPOS program

Wholesaler Update File

Depending on your wholesaler, they may provide your update file in a number of different ways. Most commonly, they will email you the file, or have you download it directly from their website. If you are uncertain of how you receive your files, contact your Drug Wholesaler Representative.

Saving and Extracting the file

Once you know where to get your file, you need to get it on the QuickPOS main register (typically this is register 101). Save the file (from your email or download from the wholesaler website) to

C:\QUICKPOS\Price_Updates

If your register does not have a Price Updates folder, you can create one, or a Cost Effective Representative can help you. Save the file here, and if it is a ZIP file, right click and extract it.

Run the Price Update

Once the file has been saved to the correct location, and extracted (if needed), we can import those values into QuickPOS.
